Connect With Vanguard Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Vanguard is the king of low-cost investing, making it ideal for buy-and-hold investors and retirement savers. But active traders will find the broker falls short despite its $0 stock trading commission, due to the lack of a strong trading platform.

Fernando from "ConsumerAffairs" website wrote a review about Vanguard on September 14, 2020:

"So- I had a relative pass away and leave me some Vanguard investments in their will. Okay fine- I called Vanguard and after 30 minutes(!) on hold because they have terrible customer service I was able to get the paperwork online. Okay, fine... so I filled out the paperwork and emailed it back to them. That was TWO MONTHS AGO. They went quiet. Nothing. Nada. So I call back again. 45(!) minute hold this time! FORTY FIVE MINUTES after the automated voice said fifteen minutes. What do I find out? Nothing. They had NO IDEA about the paperwork I'd filled out. They couldn't locate it! I mean...the unprofessionalism's mind blowing!"

Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) says

"There is no support from team leaders or supervisors when you have a question there are always smart remarks and they tell you to look at articles to help you help the customer. The job sounds nice while interviewing but when actually working here it is hard to help callers while they are calling in with problems and new situations that were went over 1 day in a 2 week training i believe this job would be more enjoyable if people were actually there to help you and you do not have to deal with peoples attitudes and smart remarks. If you are hired on through a temp agency they look at you as lesser than them which is not right because we are all here for the same reason"

Custodian (Former Employee) says

"Vanguard soap is not a safe place to work. I hate a co worker come at me with a crowbar. Management as far as I know did nothing about the matter. I left. I would not suggest that anyone go to work for them."

LPN (Former Employee) says

"Extreme difficulty in obtaining the required supplies to perform the patient care tasks order by providers. Often short handed. Unfair and unsafe staffing ratios. Numerous times denied vacation time off even when given months in advance. Cons: Short staffed, unable to obtain needed supplies, poor upper management, HR unhelpful"

Production Support Analyst (Former Employee) says

"Poor management, no concern for employees. Workplace culture is such that all individuals are only concerned for themselves. No team culture and lots of back stabbing. Cons: Insufficient work spaces"

Investment Associate (Current Employee) says

"Vanguard is a very old school company. If you want to work for an innovative, creative, year 2020 company, it is not Vanguard. Vanguard's ultra conservative, old school approach prevents new ideas from developing. To be clear, the job is this: wear a headset all day long, deal with 80 yr old clients who do not know anything about finances nor their computer, then be expected to handle all calls in an unrealistic amount of time. When you don't handle calls fast enough, management will tell you it is your fault. Enjoy. Cons: Short breaks, lunches are usually shortened to 30 minutes from 1 hr, low quality management, no development."

Alignment Technician (Former Employee) says

"Don’t get paid what you should for the work you do and don’t get to advance in the company and management doesn’t treat you with respect and talks to you like they are better than you Cons: Bad management no room for advancement"

Vice President (Former Employee) says

"A cult. they want soldiers - not people who think. They are arrogant and believe that their success comes from their intellectual capital. Their success came from their business model established in the 50's"

Designer (Current Employee) says

"No best friend at work. Always gets the lowest rating for this in the yearly poll."

Asset Transfer Specialist - Onboarding (Current Employee) says

"There is no way to distinguish yourself here especially in the entry level phone role. Poor management and poor workplace culture/adaptability. Not many enjoyable parts about the job, pay is terrible. Leaders do not do anything productive and often times only have their best interests in mind"

Onboarding Specialist (Current Employee) says

"The leadership teams are bullies and work against you. They are very discriminatory and prejudiced. They gossip about crew members and create a hostile environment by giving threatening looks and stares. They treat you like you are invisible. It is a very segregated atmosphere. They are extremely nosy and prying into"

Call Center Representative (Former Employee) says

"The job was very easy if you like talking to people over the phone, using problem solving skills.Working with vanguard you can take up to 100 calls during your shift"

Production Worker/Assembler (Former Employee) says

"I was very un happy while working at Vangaurd. They lost my first two paychecks, and that was 100 HOURS of very harrd was an overall horrible expieriencs"

Guard (Former Employee) says

"First of all, the company is actually called Premier Security Inc. Vanguard is a company they used over 20 years ago that went dormant until they went after a site in downtown Vancouver. They already had the site for years under Premier but got booted out so they used the second name to get back in because of some underhanded inside help! Cons: Run by an English dink!"

Communications Associate (Former Employee) says

"Most of the roles at this company require you to be on the phones all day. They hire you with the promise of making you a full-time staff but that will never happen. It's a call center job! Cons: The grass is not greener over here!"

Sr Java Developer (Former Employee) says

"If you are thinking of joining 50 or 60 Morhal, this review is for you. Discrimination starts from the security gate. This place is like a huge cult. If you are a minority specially, expect to be kicked around on a daily basis. Cons: this."

investments specialist (Former Employee) says

"if I could give this place zero stars I would. expect to be micro managed to the extreme. be prepared for everyone there to lie to you. everyone is fake nice and is looking to lie to you."

Operations Specialist (Former Employee) says

"This place is a joke. I have my bachelors degree in finance and economics, working for Vanguard was my first job out of college. They treat you like just a number, the pay is horrible, you are micromanaged to the tee, the managers walk around like they are too good to even say hi to you, and they are judging everyone based on their “brand.” Not to mention they treat you like you are a child. Leaving Vanguard is the best thing I’ve ever done. Cons: Everything"

Supervisor Institutional Investments (Former Employee) says

"This company is similar to a cult, no one speaks to you unless you speak first. Management only praises and promote employees they like. Very prejudice against minorities"

Retirement Plan Services Representative (Former Employee) says

"I found Vanguard to be a bit of a 'wolf in sheep's clothing'. Cons: Pay, training, management, metrics"

"The focus with client servicing positions is on metrics only, so clients can have their requests sit for months on the back burner because it would screw up personal metrics to take the time to throroughly review the client request and let the client know exactly what additional info is needed. For tuition reimbursement, expect to be promised 100 percent reimbursement, and expect to then be reimbursed half the amount you paid. They offer benefits routinely and routinely look for loopholes to prevent paying for them. To get promoted, do a project that doesnt focus on the future benefit to client or company, but focuses only on how good you will look in the short term. Study the employee info so you know your bosses face and likes and dislikes, because the only way to be promoted is to ensure they all like you, and you must be a daily cheerleader whenever they are around."
